On March 11, 2011 northern Japan experienced the fourth most powerful earthquake ever recorded. The destruction continued with tsunami waves that reached more than 40 meters high, and a nuclear disaster that will take decades to clean up.

This merging of natural and man-made disasters could be a theme for the twenty-first century. But instead of a cry of anguish or a call for help, this composition is intended as a celebration of the resilience of the human spirit, and the power of humanity to join forces and overcome whatever foe or fate may be looming on the horizon.
